Summer Success Academy

The Summer Success Academy (SSA) began in 2007 with the Summer Preparatory Program in Mathematics as part of IUPUI’s commitment to enhancing student success. Of the 252 students who participated in the program in 2007 and 2008, 96% completed the SSA with success. As a result, the support and study skills taught in the program have provided students with the tools to achieve a higher college grade point average and better preparation for their academic career.

In summer 2014, the Online Math Academy (OMA) was implemented. The program allows students to work through ALEKS (Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces) online math modules with the personalized support of virtual mentoring sessions. Students are required to check in with their mentor twice weekly for tutoring and peer-to-peer support. This program has been designed to help students be successful in credit-bearing math courses at IUPUI.
