Wendy Lin is the Assistant Director for Institutional Research and Decision Support.  Wendy is primarily responsible for studying graduate students at IUPUI – she hopes to use data and statistics to aid the understanding of graduate student attrition, persistence, retention and graduation.  In addition, Wendy also fulfills routine and ad-hoc reporting needs for Deans and Department Chairs in order to support decision making at the school-level.  

Wendy is passionate about serving the higher education community and helping students achieve their educational goals.  Her research interests lie in data mining and visual analytics – she is excited about discovering patterns in complex datasets and is constantly seeking effective ways big datasets can be stored, analyzed and visualized in order to help inform decision making.  Her tools of choice are SAS, SAS JMP, R and Tableau.  Wendy is an active member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and Indiana Association for Institutional Research (INAIR), where she has presented on a number of research topics over the course of four years.  Wendy completed her baccalaureate degree in Biology at University of British Columbia, BC and master’s degree in Applied Statistics from IUPUI.
